Understanding early wounds
I recently learned that a friend’s father died when he was just five years old. As we talked about it a few days ago, he reflected on how deeply that loss shaped so many of his life choices. I immediately understood him on a much deeper level.
We are all shaped by childhood experience in so many ways and, not infrequently, we lament what ‘happened to us’. That certainly used to be the case for me.
